Biography
Alexis' music is influenced by French Impressionist music, West Coast Minimalism and Asian music. She lived in Hong Kong and Beijing from 2007-2017 and now lives in California.
In Hong Kong, she studied erhu with Xu Hui of the HK Chinese Orchestra. Her Marimba Concerto was performed and recorded by Dame Evelyn Glennie and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
She also is an active pianist. Recent compositions include Water Colors for Oboe Quartet, String Quartet No. 3, Song of Everlasting Regret (erhu concerto), Beat of the Dragon Boat, Shadow in the Moon, Adagio Tranquillo for electric guitar and vibraphone, Cambodian dance scores with dancer Charya Burt, Route 101 for string quartet and Wen Bi Pool for harp, flute and viola.
Her music is published by Alto Publications in Bristol, England.
